Belle K. Emert, GW#22
Belle was born 7 August 1876, in the village of Rahns, in Perkiomen Township, Montgomery County, Pa., to John and Susan (Kemmer or Kemmerer) Emert. Belle’s father was born in Germany. In 1891 Belle is listed as a member in the records of Trinity Christian Church in Collegeville (formerly “Reformed” church). Belle was licensed as an evangelist in 1897 in the Mennonite Brethren in Christ Church. It has not yet been discovered where she was stationed in 1900 or 1910. In the 1913 city directory of Cleveland, Ohio, Belle is listed as a bookkeeper, with the Gospel Workers’ address as her address. In 1920, 1930, and 1940, she is found in the census in Cleveland, Ohio, with the Gospel Workers. Her education included two years of high school. Belle died 2 October 1941 and is buried in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery with other Gospel Workers.
