Claire Ruth Musselman, GW #186
Claire was born 13 April 1918 in Philadelphia, Pa. to Rev Paul Musselman and his wife, Estella (Hoffman). Paul was the son of W. B. Musselman which makes Claire the granddaughter of W. B. and Mary Ann Musselman. In 1920 the family was in Philadelphia where Paul was working as a clerk in a warehouse. Ten years later they are in a different house in the city where Paul is the proprietor of his own grocery store. Claire is the youngest child and the only one still in school. By 1940 Claire has joined the Gospel Workers. In the 1940 census it is reported that Claire had two years of high school. In 1950 Claire is an office editor for the Gospel Worker Society. Apparently, Claire did not stay with the Gospel Workers. In 1992 she was living in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, and in 1993-1994 she was living at 1908 Pleasantdale Road, Cleveland. In 2022 that address is part of an apartment complex which could have been that in 1993. Claire died on 5 July 1994 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, but is buried in the Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, though she does not have the GWS insignia on her gravemarker.
