Elmira L. Zimmerman, GW#19
Elmira was born 9 November 1876 in Helfenstein, Schuylkill County, Pa., to Abraham and Susanna Litweiler Zimmerman. Helfenstein is close to both Shamokin and Mt. Carmel. At some point she entered the ministry of the Gospel Worker Society. In 1926 she is listed in the Youngstown, Ohio city directory. In the obituaries of her siblings she is listed as living in Youngstown in 1933, 1936, and 1942. In the 1950 census she is listed as a home missionary in Youngstown, Ohio along with one other Gospel Worker, Mildred Weidner. Elmira died on 30 March 1959 in Youngstown, Mahoning County, Ohio. The inquest hospital was Public, and an autopsy was performed for certification. She is buried in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery in Cleveland with many other Gospel Workers. Elmira was a sister of William Wesley Zimmerman, pastor in the MBC, who was a member of Beulah BFC of Easton at the time of his death in 1960.
