Eva Mae Leiby, #135
Eva was born on 6 July 1896 in Berks County, Pa to Charles and Rosa (Levan) Leiby. Sadly, Eva’s mother died in 1902 when Eva was only six years old. It was several years later before her father married again. The Leiby family lived in Womelsdorf in 1900 and in Hamburg in 1910, both of which are not far from Reading, Pa. which is probably where she learned of the Gospel Workers. By 1920, Eva had joined the Gospel Worker Society and remained with the society up to at least 1940. In this time period the Gospel Workers spent most or all of their time in the print shop, either writing or running machines or supporting those that did. In the mid 1940s Eva married Cleveland resident George Reuter, a widower with four grown children. They enjoyed about 25 years of marriage by the time George died in 1969. Eva lived another 25 years; she died on 9 September 1994 at the age of 98. I don’t know where they are buried.
