Harriet E. Schrock, GW #169
Harriet was born on 9 October 1885 in Williamsport to Justus M. and Duella (Miller) Schrock. The Schrock family lived in Williamsport for a while where Justus worked as a janitor in a church and later as a watchman at the dye works. The family were members of the United Methodist Church in town. When Harriet was in her 20s, she worked as a picker (in the textile industry?) then later as a weaver, according to Williamsport, Pa. city directories. By 1920, the Schrock family had moved to Youngstown, Ohio, where Justus worked as a collector in an express company. In September 1929 Harriet joined the Gospel Worker Society, serving at the main headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. In the federal census of 1930, 1940, and 1950 Harriet is living in Cleveland with the main group of Gospel Workers. She remained with the Gospel Worker Society for the rest of her life. She died on 18 February 1960 and is buried in the cemetery in Cleveland with many other Gospel Workers.
