Libbie E. Svecha, GW #121
Libbie was born on 11 April 1894 in Detroit, Michigan to immigrants from Bohemia/Austria Stanislaw and Catherine (Sver or Soec) Svecha. Libbie lived with her parents in Detroit well into adulthood, along with her eight brothers and sisters. By 1917 Libbie was a Gospel Worker, being listed as such in the Cleveland, Ohio city directory. In 1930 she was in Pittsburgh, PA with a small group of Gospel Workers there. The photo of her below was taken in 1930 with the group in Pittsburgh. For reasons not yet discovered, Libbie left the Gospel Workers and is living in California in 1937, according to the Vallejo City directory. By 1942 she had married Louis Sedgast (WWII draft registration and Libbie’s SS application). Louis was born in Oregon where he lived many years. He was married twice before marrying Libbie, but apparently did not have any children. It appears that Libbie also did not have any children. Libbie died on 3 July 1948 in San Bernardino, California and is buried in San Gorgonio Memorial Park In Banning, California. Her husband died in 1953 in Riverside, California, according to the California death index.
