Lucy Pearl Watson, GW #102
Lucy was born on 30 October 1891 in West Virginia to Joseph J and Idella J Watson. Lucy’s sister Silvia also was a Gospel Worker. In 1902 when Lucy was ten years old her father died. By 1920 she had joined the Gospel Worker Society where she is found in Cleveland, Ohio in the census. She continued with the Gospel Workers in 1930. Before the next federal census Lucy had joined Annie Spellman’s group in Detroit. She is listed in the census by her middle name, Pearl, and reports that she had four years of high school. In 1950 she is listed in Detroit as L. Pearl Watson. She is the head of the house, never married, occupation is city missionary, working for a church. She has two boarders living in her home; they are not missionaries. Where are the rest of the ladies in that mission? Pearl may have lived the rest of her life in Michigan. She was living in Michigan at the time of her death on 13 March 1995.
