Mabel D. Cowic GW #201

Mabel was born on 13 October 1909 in Ohio (probably Dayton) to Frank and Bessie (Seamon) Cowic.  In the 1930s, Mabel was a Lieutenant in the Salvation Army.  Newspaper reports put her in Clearfield, Pa in 1932 and 1933, New Castle, Pa in 1936, and visiting Clearfield in 1937.  She is listed in the Oil City, Pa city directory in 1938 as an assistant officer in the Salvation Army. Her whereabouts in 1940 remain undiscovered.  By 1950 she had joined the Gospel Worker Society and is living in Cleveland with two other Gospel Workers, Laura Bachman and Katy Foltz, in the Thurman Street house while the rest of the Gospel Workers had moved to the Brook Park Road building. It appears Mabel did not stay with the Gospel Workers.  Her last address was in Asbury Park, Monmouth County, NJ.  She died on 8 October 1999 and is buried in the Salvation Army section of Monmouth Memorial Park in Tinton Falls, NJ.
