Margaret Pauline Tyerman, GW #204
Margaret was born on 20 February 1916 in Champion, Chase County, Nebraska to William T. and Lulu G. (Davidson) Tyerman. Margaret’s father was a farmer. In 1937, when Margaret was 21 years old, her mother died. Margaret was living with her father and younger brother in 1940, presumably keeping house for the three of them. Margaret’s formal education included four years of high school. At some point Margaret heard about and joined the Gospel Worker Society. She was with them in 1950 for the census where she is listed as “assistant mistress” in a missionary home. It is unknown how she found out about the Society. There were some Mennonite Brethren in Christ churches in Nebraska; perhaps she was acquainted with them. It appears Margaret did not stay with the Society. She was in a long-term care nursing facility in Wood, Ohio when she died on 16 November 1989. She is not buried with the Gospel Workers in Cleveland, but rather is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial, Nebraska where her parents are buried.
