Martha H. Seymour, GW #25
Martha was born in April of 1880 in England to Thomas and Annie Seymour. The family immigrated to America in 1882 and were naturalized in 1887. The family settled in Girardville, Schuylkill County, Pa. where Thomas was a coal miner. There was a Mennonite Brethren in Christ ministry in Girardville from 1899 to 1905, so apparently that is how Martha knew of the Gospel Workers. Her service was short lived. She is listed in the census in 1900 with her parents but by 1902 she was married to Raymond Nattress. Martha and Raymond had at least six children, though only four lived to adulthood. Raymond was a coal miner until 1928 when he took up carpentry. About that time the family moved to Fleetwood where Martha died the following year, on 10 September 1929. She is buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Girardville. Her husband died in 1968 and is buried next to her.
