Sarah G. Brunner, GW #23
Sarah was born on 2 January 1876, the twelfth birthday of her brother, Charles Henry Brunner, pastor in the MBC. Sarah was born in Zionsville to Joel and Rebecca (Gehman) Brunner. Sadly, Sarah was only six years old when her mother died. Sarah had a lifetime of ministry in the Gospel Worker society, entering on 24 November 1897. She began with city work; she was in Jersey Shore, Pa in 1900 with Jennie Caskie, and in Norfolk, Va in 1910 with three other Gospel Workers. By 1920 she was living in Cleveland on the compound there and lived there the rest of her life. Eventually, as her strength waned, she performed office work. Sarah died on 8 January 1972 and is buried in Brooklyn Heights cemetery with other Gospel Workers. Lucy Musselman, Gospel Worker #1 was Sarah’s aunt. Gospel Worker founder and leader Wm. B. Musselman was Sarah’s first cousin.
