Sarah Kuntz, GW #37

Sarah was born on 7 September 1880 to David and Mary (Haines) Kuntz of Walnutport, Pa.  Sarah was a sister to Gospel Worker #8, Rebecca Kuntz.  In 1900, Sarah lived with Gospel Worker Mary Hassler in Muncy, Lycoming County, Pa.  Sarah moved to Cleveland, Ohio when the printing operation moved there; she was there in 1910.  She did not stay there, however.  She returned to Williamsport, Pennsylvania and served there as a Gospel Worker at least until 1929, according to the city directories.  Part of that time she lived and worked with Gospel Worker Lizzie Christman.  In the 1940 census we find Sarah in Williamsport working as a “home missionary,” living by herself in an apartment.  She got a Social Security number in 1963 at the age of 83.  Sarah died on 16 December 1977 and is buried in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio with the Gospel Workers.  Ohio death registrar’s certificate number:  087338.
