Susan H. Keen, GW #36 

Susie was born 1 July 1876 to John and Anne (Shingle) Keen in Warwick Township, Chester County, Pa.  She was visiting her sister in Spring City, Pa. when she attended church there.  She was already a believer in Jesus but now consecrated her life to service for the Lord.  She entered the society on 25 May 1899.  In 1900 Susie is with the Gospel Workers in Williamsport.  After that, she is in Cleveland for the remaining available census records.  She is listed as a missionary in most but in 1920 she is listed as “secretary” in “publishing office.”  In Williamsport she spent a few months in street evangelism but most of her career was in publishing.  She served as bookkeeper then financial secretary for many years.  She helped to launch the Gospel Herald in 1903 and wrote “Christian Endeavor Notes” regularly for that publication.  She has written pieces for other publications of the Union Gospel Press.  Susie died on 21 October 1953 and is buried in the Brooklyn Heights cemetery with other Gospel Workers.
