Sylvia B. Watson, GW #108

Silvia was born on 12 May 1895 in West Virginia to Joseph J and Idella J Watson.  Sylvia’s sister Lucy was also a Gospel Worker.  Silvia was not quite seven years old when her father died in 1902.  I have not found a record for Sylvia’s whereabouts in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 census.  Perhaps she was using her middle name.  In 1940 she is in Detroit with Ann Spellman’s group and she reports that she had four years of high school.  There is a California death record for a Sylvia B Watson, born 12 May 1895 and died 9 December 1964 in Orange, California.  The Gospel Worker Society roster that is posted in the lobby of the Union Gospel Press lists “S B Watson 1895-1964.”  I believe this is the same Sylvia Watson.  Below is a photo of Sylvia when she was in Ann Spellman’s group.
