Report of the
Board of Christian Education
The Board of Christian Education met on December 6, 1994, and will meet once more before the 112th Annual Conference. Much of the work of the Board of Christian Education is done by sub-committees.
The following are the reports of those sub-committees:
Audio-Visual Library
Additions have been made to the video library for the Conference. We encourage churches to use this excellent resource by contacting Pastor David Schoen at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church in Emmaus, PA. An updated listing of all available video resources will be distributed at the 112th Annual Conference.
Christian Education Training
The 1995 Teacher Training Seminar will be held March 25, 1995, at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church. Featured will be Walk Thru the Bible’s presentation, “Teaching With Style”. More than 150 registrations have been received as of February 10, 1995.
Pastor, Elder, Deacon Advance
Dr. Richard Taylor, pastor of the Wallingford Bible Fellowship Church, was the speaker for the 1994 Advance held November 11-12, 1994, at Pinebrook Bible Conference in Stroudsburg, PA. 152 men attended the seminar.
Dr. Taylor spoke on “Agreeing and Disagreeing: Decision Making As A Team”. All who attended felt the topic was very helpful to them and their church. The sessions were divided between lecture and group discussion giving many churches the opportunity to practice what was being taught.
The 1995 Pastor, Elder, Deacon Advance will be held November 10-11 at Pinebrook Bible Conference.
Youth
Thanksgiving Youth Rally
The 1994 Rally was held November 25. There were 307 teens and leaders in attendance. The day began with an afternoon of activity at selected locations in the Allentown area (bowling, roller skating, volleyball, etc.) and ended with supper and a concert at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church with musician, Mark Cable. The day of ministry and fellowship was well received.
Sno-Glo
Three excellent weekends of ministry were provided for our teens this year through the Sno-Glo ministry. For the first time, Junior High and Senior High Teens were provided separate weekends of ministry focused specifically on their needs. Pastor Gil Vining and his team of Youth Pastors did an outstanding job of preparing and leading the weekends. Special thanks goes to Pinebrook Bible Conference for its provision of three weekends for ministry, a reduced rate for BFC Teens, and its flexibility in scheduling that provided an exciting opportunity for growth, fellowship, fun, and learning for the 877 participants. Increased attendance has resulted in our booking Pinebrook for three exclusive weekends in 1996. For the first time, the first three full weekends of January will be set aside solely for Bible Fellowship Teens at Sno-Glo ’96.
Mr. Gary Saggio has been asked to fulfill the term of office left when Scott Fetterolf resigned from the Board. We are grateful for his input.
We submit the following material regarding Sunday Bible Schools for second reading: (see 1994 Yearbook, p.41)
