Report of the

Ministerial Convention Committee

           The Annual Ministerial Convention was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 28th and 29th, 1999 at Pinebrook Bible Conference. The Conference was entitled “When God Moves: Leaders Praying for True Revival” and centered around the patterns of God’s movement in the church throughout its history and what we should be doing in order to prepare ourselves for God’s movement in our own churches.

           At the business meeting the following members were elected to serve on the 2000 committee: Ronald C. Mahurin, Harvey J. Fritz, and Allan R. Vivona. Excused from the committee due to the expiration of their terms were: Ronald W. Hoyle, Dennis J. Lawrence and Jonathan W. Arnold, Sr..

 The Committee constitution is as follows:

           The following resolution was presented to the 116th Annual Conference by the Ministerial Convention Committee at first reading:

Whereas, the present members of the Ministerial Convention Committee desire to provide more continuity to the Ministerial Convention and allow more advanced planning to take place

Resolved, that article 701-2.2 (3) be changed to read:

(3) The members of the committee shall be elected for a term of three years in classes as follows:

                                   Class I            Two Ministers

                                   Class II           Two Ministers

                                   Class III          One Minister

           The resolution passed at first reading.

           The 2000 Ministerial Convention is scheduled for September 26th and 27th and has been planned to be a time of spiritual renewal for our pastors and their wives. We are excited to announce that the Lord has once again provided a capable and godly man, Dr. John H. Armstrong of Reformation and Revival Ministries, Inc. for this purpose. We were encouraged by the many positive comments concerning Dr. Armstrong’s ministry to us last year and asked if he would consider coming back again. His theme will be the Holy Spirit and Preaching. I’m sure you’ll want to put these dates on your schedule right away.
