Report of the

Ministerial Convention Committee

      The annual Ministerial Convention was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 24 and 25, 2002 at Pinebrook Bible Conference.

      The Conference theme was entitled: Helping Hurting People. Four sessions were held which included the following topics: “Causes of Grief and Initial Reactions,” “Transitioning to the New Reality,” “Rebuilding the Life to Glorify God,” and “Helping Hurting Children.” Each session was taught by Wally Stephenson who was assisted by his wife, Jennie Lockerbie Stephenson. These sessions were encouraging, inspirational and helpful as Wally had experienced grief first hand. Jeannie also shared a session on “Add to Your Faith” for the women while the pastors met for their business meeting.

      At the business meeting, the following members were elected to serve on the 2003 committee: Charles E. Cole and Ralph E. Ritter.

      The 2003 Ministerial Convention is scheduled for September 30, October 1, 2003. The theme will be Responding to Conflict Biblically emphasizing the importance of reconciliation. Our guest speaker will be Glen Ridenour, an attorney who will represent Peacemaker Ministries. We will be using a booklet entitled: Responding to Conflict Biblically from Peacemaker Ministries.
