2003 Report of Publication and Printing

Report of the

Board of Publication & Printing

Board of Communications

Although I am less than the least of all God’s people, this grace was given me:

to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery,

which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.

Ephesians 3:8,9

For us in the church of Jesus Christ it is imperative that we make the gospel plain to everyone. It is the job of each believer and of both the particular church and the universal church to do so. The message of the gospel must not be lost to people in desperate need of it because we have bungled its transmission to others.

We must be clear also in other ways. We must be careful we communicate well with each other. It is sad that marriages, friendships, employment opportunities and longstanding relationships with people in the church break up because communications have broken down. We must be extremely careful we express ourselves carefully to one another. This is a way we submit to each other and display love and consideration to each other. If we love we will be careful to communicate well.

Careful and accurate communication is the goal of us who bear the responsibility of publishing information important to the ongoing work of the Bible Fellowship Church. Most of the time we succeed. There are times we have failed. One colossal error that was made this year was the inclusion of the wrong year’s set of statistics, failure to include a complete list of Annual Conference Delegates, and budget information from the Board of Directors of the Bible Fellowship Church in the 2002 Yearbook. Correct sheets have been sent to each church that ordered Yearbooks. Additional copies are available at the Board of Communications table.

With the passing of the second reading legislation the name of the Board of Publication has changed to the Board of Communications.

We thank you for the opportunity to serve you this past year. It is indeed a privilege to serve the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ this way. Please help us make our publications more relevant to your needs. Do not hesitate to communicate with us. We are open to your ideas. One of the outcomes of this type of communication will be the reworking of our web site.

One of the great blessings I, as chairman, have of working with this Board has been working with the quality people who are on it. They work hard and are committed to what they do to bring you the best that we can. We have some financial issues that do constrain us and continues to challenge our creativity to be sure we wisely use the funds entrusted to us and yet maintain attractive and forward-looking products. We always are in need of prayer but especially in the area of finances.

Thank you for entrusting us with such an important task.

The board makes the following recommendations:

1.   Resolved, that a contribution of $325 for the conference year 2003 be given to the Board of Publication and Printing from each agency to help underwrite the cost of printing and distribution of the Fellowship News. 2.   Resolved, that $1.75 per member of each particular Bible Fellowship Church for 2003 be forwarded to the Board of Publication and Printing from each church to help underwrite the cost of printing and distributing the Fellowship News. Payments are to be made to the Board of Publication and Printing table at the 120th Annual Conference.
