Report of the BFC Homes, Inc.
Motivated by the compassion of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the mission of the Bible Fellowship Church Homes, Inc. is to provide the services for older adults and infirm which promote social, physical, psychological, emotional, intellectual and spiritual well-being. In fulfilling this mission, Fellowship Community adheres to the concept of ministry of the Bible Fellowship Church, which recognizes and affirms the maturity, dignity and eternal destiny of each person. The Board of Directors seeks to honor this mission by maintaining a commitment to excellence , innovative program and quality service.
Fellowship Community has completed Brunner Court this past year, which adds 21 additional independent units for a total of 83. The campus master plan has been revised to provide for an additional 34-36 independent units and a Community Center.
Resident occupancy levels remain high with waiting lists for the Skilled Nursing unit (Manor), Assisted Living unit (Terrace), and the Independent Living units (Courts.)
Fellowship Community endeavors to meet the religious needs of all residents, which are addressed by the Pastoral Services Department, the Social Service Department and the Activities Department. It is the Pastoral Services Department policy to provide a range of opportunities for worship.
One of three Chaplains is on duty each weekday and on call for emergencies. They complete Spiritual Assessments on each admission to the Manor and Terrace and inform them of spiritual opportunities available. This includes Worship Services, Prayer Meetings, Bible Studies, Daily Devotions, visitation, counseling (residents and staff) seasonal/special services, presence and prayer in Family Conferences, hospital visits, attending calling hours and/or funeral services.
Sunday Morning Worship Service attendance is averaging 50+, afternoon Worship is 35+ and Wednesday evening is 40+. The chaplains have made more than 1500 in room/campus visits and/or hospital visits.
A special expression of appreciation is due to the following churches that assist in Sunday afternoon Worship: Bible Fellowship Churches – Bethlehem, Emmaus, Nazareth, Walnutport, Whitehall, Zionsville, and Trinity Baptist Church of Allentown.
The staff and volunteers at Fellowship community (Manor, Terrace and Courts) are to be commended for their caring attitude and cooperative spirit. We thank the Lord for providing us with a very dedicated and loyal staff.
In conclusion, the Board of Directors appreciates all the contributions from the churches and individuals. The church contributions are used to assist Bible Fellowship church members who no longer have the resources to be maintained as private pay residents.
