Report of the
Board of Youth & Young Adults
The Board of Youth and Young Adults met four times in 2005 to conduct its work. In addition to the full board meetings, our sub-committees met as needed.
Without question, the major effort of our Board is Sno Glo. At a get-together of youth who are leaders and adult youth leaders, the question was asked, “What event had a significant impact on your life?” Many of the young people answered, “Sno Glo”.
We believe that Sno Glo is a very significant event and can be a tremendous influence for God in the lives of our youth. We desire to take it to another level. In the next year, we will concentrate on the four sessions to add thematic elements to make the messages even more effective. We realize that we must cry out to God for His Spirit to empower the sessions, but we also want to do our dead-level best to put together programs for God’s glory and the good of those who attend.
In the coming year, we are taking steps to connect with those who work with youth in our churches – whether volunteer or professional. We want to do what we can to make the common bond that we have in the BFC stronger.
In the Fall of 2006, we will offer a retreat we call, “Here Am I, Send Me” It is for any man who is considering the possibility that God might be calling him into pastoral ministry. We would like in this retreat to explore the call of God and how it would work within the BFC. We would like a potential mentor, elder or pastoral staff member to accompany each man.
