Report of the
Board of Youth & Young Adults
The Board of Youth and Young Adults (BYYA) met four times during the 2006 year to conduct its business. This report identifies the three events in which our board is involved
The first is the “Here Am I, Send Me” Retreat which was held at Timbertops in Newfoundland, PA, on January 26-27, 2007. This retreat is for men who believe it may be possible that God is calling them into the ministry in general and the pastorate in the BFC in particular. Five men came this year with four mentors to shepherd them as they continue this quest. We believe this retreat does crucial work and it will be repeated as needed in the future.
The second is our signature event – Sno Glo. This is an effort put on cooperatively by the BYYA and Pinebrook Bible Conference. Sno Glo was held during three weekends in January. We have deeply appreciated the cooperation that Pinebrook has given us as we have put this retreat on year after year. Every year we receive many evaluations from campers and leaders and we strive to improve the quality of our programming. We pray that this retreat meets the spiritual needs of those who attend.
For some years, we’ve been re-working our approach to our Young Adults ministry. This year, a big, positive stride was taken through another cooperative effort with our board and Pinebrook. A Young Adult Retreat was held at Pinebrook on February 16-18, 2007. This retreat was a first-time event and all connected with it believe that we are really into something good.
We encourage churches in the BFC to add the Board of Youth and Young Adults to their annual giving.
Respectfully presented,
John Vandegriff, Secretary
