Report of the
Pinebrook Bible Conference
The omniscience of the one and only true God has been vividly apparent throughout Pinebrook’s ministry in 1999. His fortitude in times of trial has strengthened those who labor here for Him, and His grace has given comfort and reassurance through His blessings.
Many physical challenges in the first quarter of the year created great concern for all of us. Our former Director, Bert N. Brosius, and our Construction Supervisor underwent surgery. One of our young women suffered a miscarriage, a torn ligament disabled our Custodial Supervisor for some time, and our Mechanical Supervisor was diagnosed with cancer.
Pinebrook also experienced a major reconstruction of its personnel which included Rick Lockhart moving from the position of Food Service Manager to Registrar/Conference Host, Craig Sabo transferring from Registrar to the newly created position of Publications Coordinator, Peggy Green transferring from Food Serve to Financial Officer, and the hiring of Rich Simon as Food Service Manager. In addition, Pinebrook’s Board of Directors ratified the hiring of Pastor Mark C. McCreary, as our Director of Ministries. We thank God for His leading in this matter. Pastor Mark has provided vision and guidance to the guests, staff, and community of Pinebrook.
Experiencing all of these things in the first six months of the year created a perfect setting for frustration and anxiety. But, by God’s grace, He was the Lamp before our feet and the Light upon our path. In His infinite wisdom, these trials and changes united the workers into a more effective force of His ministry.
On July 23rd, Pinebrook suffered a great loss when Harold L. Snyder, Jr., Vice President of the Board of Directors, was taken home to be with his Savior. His witness and dedication to servitude was, and still remains, a guide for those who knew him. We rest in the assurance that he stood before our Lord hearing the words: “Well done my good and faithful servant.” David T. Allen was elected by Pinebrook’s Board of Directors to fulfill the vacancy for the balance of the fiscal Annual Conference year.
God has blessed Pinebrook with a Board of Directors that show wisdom and discernment. The staff is thankful for the direction of our Board and pray that God will continue to show forth His blessings upon them. We wish to formally thank those who serve on our Board for their dedication to Pinebrook’s ministry. We also are very grateful to the many volunteers who have served the Lord during the year.
Pinebrook’s Pinnacle Project came to a close on December 31, 1999. The success of this program is astounding as we reveiw the improvements to our facilities. We praise God for His intervention throughout the five years of this project. We also are thankful for the hundreds of supporters who helped make the success of the project a reality.
The programs and retreats throughout this year have shown that God is at work at Pinebrook. Dozens of life- changing experiences and salvations were realized each week. These provide a realization of the impact that Pinebrook and its ministries has in today’s world.
The Lord has seen fit to bless Pinebrook with financial stabilities and has provided guidance in the prudent stewardship of His blessings.
May God continue to find favor on the ministry of Pinebrook, the Bible Fellowship Church, all Agencies of the BFC, and His people as we continue His work. – All To the Glory of God!
