Report of the
Committee on Arrangements
The Committee on Arrangements for the 127th BFC Conference met twice during the Conference year in fulfillment of its mandate. The purpose of the committee continues to be to review the mechanics and efficiency of each conference as well as assist in providing hospitality. Any suggestions on what can be done to better accomplish the above are graciously received.
The Committee is reviewing the efficiency and cost effectiveness as in regard to printed Report Books. The Report Book came into existence as a result of this committee’s initial work. Previously, each board, committee and agency (now department) was required to copy and distribute their report to each pastor and/or church. Having a central distribution point with all the reports under one cover streamlined Conference and guaranteed that each member had all the reports. This also eliminated time wasted as members went to the report racks to get a particular report. The question the Committee is now discussing is whether an online copy should replace the hard copy thus eliminating the expense of printing books for each member. A survey will be taken of the members of the BFC Conference in this regard. Please give this some thought and respond accordingly.
Pinebrook is taking strides to make internet access in the Fellowship Hall more accessible. To cover the cost of this expense a $10 fee will be charged per person for internet access during the BFC Conference. See the Page table for making the donation and receiving individual password code.
Orientation material has been placed in the beginning of the Report Book. This material should be reviewed by each member of Annual Conference.
The Overseer of the Pages for the 127th BFC Conference is Daniel L. Williams, Pastor of Woodbury Heights, NJ, and the Head Page is Raymond L. Cole, Assistant Pastor at our Newark, DE, church.
The Committee has taken it upon itself to remind the Moderator of BFC Conference to establish a committee to review the BPLs every seven years as was resolved by the 121st Annual Conference (Yearbook, 38). Next year, 2011, would be the year for a committee to be appointed.
