Report of Pinebrook Bible Conference to BFC Conference: 1991

Report of the Board of Directors, Pinebrook Bible Conference

Pinebrook Bible Conference is a ministry of the Bible Fellowship Church. On the grounds of the camp there were 1,500 guests gathered during the 1991 Summer Conference and many thousands throughout the retreat season. Spiritual battles are fought and spiritual victories are won here resulting in: (a) Salvation of those who are lost in sin; (b) Dedication of those who are the Lord’s; (c) Commitment to service by those who God calls.

There are three great dynamics which make Pinebrook successful in its ministry under the direction and power of the Holy Spirit. (a) Exposition of the inspired Word of God. (b) Exercise of the spiritual gifts of musicians, pastors and teachers. (c) Edification of the body-life of the church in fellowship.

We are delighted to hear our guests talk about the beauty and improvement of the buildings and grounds. Some major improvements have been made as follows: (1) Exterior painting of all buildings, (2) Renovations to Viewbrook motel, (3) Complete renovation of the Snack Shop, (4) Major clean-up in maintenance barn area, (5) Cabin #11 completely renovated, (6) Meadowbrook under construction (7) Installation of two new signs at Pinebrook entrance.

Many of our guests have said, “I have never ever seen the grounds look this good.” However, Pinebrook is not building and grounds. Pinebrook is people. People serving God as they serve other people.

A special thank you and praise to the following people: (1) The twenty-five people who are either full time or part-time on our permanent staff. (2) The fifty people; high school age, college age and adults who were part of our Summer staff. (3) The many Retreat-Within-a-Retreat groups who came to serve as our weekend staff during the retreat season. (4) The many people who gave of their time and labor in work projects during work day, work week, flower planting and others on a weekly basis. (5) The musicians, speakers, teachers, pastors, and other persons who ministered God’s Word to our guests. (6) The thousands of people who came on these grounds this past year and were ministered to in their lives.

The Summer Bible Conference is attended primarily by Bible Fellowship Church members. We urge all members and friends of the Bible Fellowship Church to plan to attend next Summer. It is the desire of the Pinebrook Bible Conference Board of Directors to have every Bible Fellowship Church pastor attend a week of the Summer conference. Each local church and each Board of Elders are requested to urge their pastor to attend in 1992. A good way to get him to attend is to have the local church pay the expense for the pastor and his family for a week at Pinebrook.

Two men will be leaving Pinebrook Bible Conference Board at this Annual Conference. Both of these men have served Pinebrook since the day it was purchased by the Bible Fellowship Church. Both men have decided not to stand for re-election. These two men are John H. Riggall, and Robert Breitegam.

John H. Riggall was elected to the Pinebrook Bible Conference Board in 1968 and has served on that board from then to the present. Jack was elected as the chairman of the Pinebrook Bible Conference Board in 1972 and has served in that position for 19 years until the present.

Robert Breitegam was elected to the Pinebrook Service Board in 1969 and served on that board for 7 years until 1976. In 1976 Bob was elected to the Pinebrook Bible Conference Board and has served on that board for the past 15 years until the present.

The Pinebrook Bible Conference Board gives thanks to God for the faithful and loving service of these two men. We pray God’s blessing upon them and that they will continue to support the ministry of Pinebrook with their prayer and encouragement.

Attached you will find a financial statement of the operation of Pinebrook for the 1990 calendar year. God has again graciously supplied all of our needs. The financial statement of August 1991 shows that we are operating in the black during 1991. Another great blessing during the past year was the decision of the Monroe County Supervisors to grant real estate tax relief to Pinebrook Bible Conference.
