Report of Publication and Printing to BFC Conference: 1993

Report of the Board of Publication and Printing

“Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.”

Psalm 119:89

What an encouragement to know that God’s Word does not change. What a source of humility to know that man’s word does change. Think of it. Once God spoke His Word, it was set permanently, for all eternity. No need for revision of the commandments, the beatitudes, or the spiritual fruit parts and certainly no need to “update” the history revealed in Scripture.

On the other hand, “We the people…” have had our Constitution amended many times; our Merriam Webster Collegiate Dictionary reach a tenth edition; and have witnessed too many newspaper “corrections” of erroneous articles buried in the back pages.

The FAITH & ORDER of the Bible Fellowship Church does not escape the need for revision. Since our last edition many changes have been enacted by Annual Conference which need to be reflected in this compendium of what we believe and how we manage ourselves before God. A significant step toward revision was taken at the Adjourned Session of the 109th Annual Conference, meeting in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, when at the request of the Board of Publication and Printing, the Advisory Committee for Revising the FAITH & ORDER was appointed.

The Committee’s work is largely completed. The men on the Committee gave of themselves with faithfulness and discipline and are to be highly commended. The Board of Publication and Printing will be, through God’s enablement, publishing a new edition of the FAITH & ORDER this coming conference year.

FELLOWSHIP NEWS is becoming more regular in its appearance at your church. We continue to make improvements in this area. Please note that we are keeping the contribution per member at the same rate this year. The one dollar and thirty five cents ($1.35) amount reflects the sixteen (16) month transitional (September 1993 through December 1994). We are still interested in receiving news from the churches. Please send all information to the Editor.

By Annual Conference, the Board plans to have available the Parliamentary Procedure Report (1992) called: “A Concise Guide to Parliamentary Procedure”. Other Study Committee reports from past years will be available soon. The ones in production right now are Abortion (1982); Divorce (1987, 1965); Homosexuality (1987); and Secret Societies (1964). Orders for printed supplies should be sent to our “warehouse-man” Dan Allen in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. All payments should be made to our Business Manager:

                                    Mr. Paul Rutman

                                    Apt. 607, 824 Lisburn Rd.

                                    Camp Hill, PA 17011

We thank you for your literary and financial contribution and for your understanding and support.
