Report of the Historical Committee

                  The Bible Fellowship Church is the title of the newly completed book by Dr. Harold Shelly, professor of church history at Alliance Theological Seminary in Nyack, New York. The Historical Committee has given most of its time and effort this year to bringing the book to publication.

                  Dr. John Ruth, Mennonite historian and writer has written concerning The Bible Fellowship Church, “Author Shelly’s careful work not only is a gift of maturing historical vision to his own growing church fellowship; it opens the book of his people’s colorful story to many fellow Christians who join with his evident concern for a faithful Church of Christ in our times.” We are glad for this endorsement by Dr. Ruth which recognizes the good work that Dr. Shelly has done in preparing his manuscript.

                  The Historical Committee is pleased to offer its newest publication to this Annual Conference with the desire that it will help our members know our story and appreciate our legacy.

                  Several projects were completed during the year. The archives now contain two bound copies of each Year Book for 1886 – 1965. Bound copies of General Conference minutes have also been prepared.

                  Pinebrook Junior College has placed some of its records in the archives where they will be available for future reference. Individuals have sent a number of photographs and other records for safekeeping.

                  The Historical Committee requests that you watch for historically relevant material which can be placed for storage and study in our archives.
