George McClellan Reinbold, GHS
George McClellan Reinbold was born on 14 September 1868 (or 1870?). His age varies from document to document. His parents were Henry and Susan (Ulrich) Reinbold of Watsontown, Pennsylvania. An article about him in a Gospel Worker Society publication reports that he was converted on 6 February 1896 in a Baptist church in Watsontown where the Gospel Workers held meetings. He entered the Gospel Herald Society on 14 January 1903, leaving his job as a stone mason.
By 1906 George had ministered in Easton, Pa, Phillipsburg and Washington, NJ, Norristown, Pa and East Stroudsburg, PA. George appears in the 1915 and 1917 city directories of York, PA, as a missionary.
In 1920 he was serving in Philadelphia along with Gospel Heralds Menno Myers (and wife and children), Michael Cressman, and Henry Bertolet. The 1923 Easton, PA, city directory listed him as a missionary in that city.
By 1930 George left the Gospel Heralds and served at the Bethesda Mission in Harrisburg as a janitor.
In 1940 George appears in the census in Philadelphia at the Nugent Baptist Ministers and wives home. He is listed as being 72 years old, single, three years of college, and that he lived in the same place in 1935. He didn’t live there for long after the census. He died on 6 April 1941. He is buried in the Watsontown Cemetery where his parents and some of his siblings are buried.
