William Harrison Stutzman was born on 10 March 1878 to John and Susanna (Stitzer) Stutzman. He was baptized as a baby on 1 September 1878 at Christ’s United Lutheran Church in Ashland, Pa.

By 1900 the family had moved to Whitehall, PA where William’s father continued working as a stone mason. William worked as a laborer in cement works. In June of that year, William attended the Mennonite Brethren in Christ camp meeting in nearby Northampton, Pa and was converted to Christ there. The following year he was recommended to the ministry by the Gospel Herald Society in July 1901.

He was assigned to a mission in Philadelphia where he died on 2 August 1903. He was buried the following day in Greenmount Cemetery in Philadelphia. He was not married. The death record lists his occupation as “missionary.”
