In the third session, on November 6, 1860, in the above mentioned Meeting House⁸ in Lehigh County, Brother David Henning was asked to read the Word. It was decided that: At communion the part regarding the washing of the feet (John 13) shall be read by a preacher every time after the bread and wine are served and a free invitation shall be given to members to practice or not to practice and no one is to be considered better than the other since Christ also washed the feet of His disciples.
