Ministerial Candidate Committee

The Ministerial Candidate Committee “shall safeguard the doctrinal purity of the church by exercising vigilance when examining prospective ministers concerning their beliefs and practices, endeavoring to approve only those who are committed without reservation to the authority of the Scriptures and the doctrines and practices of our church as the system of doctrine taught in the Scriptures.” [Faith & Order, §512-13 (5)] The committee interviews men and conducts examinations to assure the churches of the BFC that the men who are eligible for a call are committed to the understanding of Scripture which is at the heart of our church.

The Ministerial Candidate Committee has met eleven times since February, 2003. Eighteen men were interviewed. We are thankful to God who continues to send men to us for service.

The following men were interviewed: Mark E. Barninger, Jonathan H. Bosse, Kevin W. Clineff, Raymond C. Cole, Louis S. Curcio, John C. Elias, Glenn R. Felty, Troy S. Good, Fred J. Hoffman, Robert A. Johnson II, Kevin W. Kirkpatrick, Ferdie R. Madara, Alan G. Miller, Philip G. Norris, Mark A. Scott, Michael J. Tannous, Colby A. Weinhofer, and Edward M. Williams.

The following men were recommended to the Committee on Credentials for ordination examination: Kevin W. Clineff, Louis S. Curcio, and Kevin W. Kirkpatrick.

The following were recommend to the Committee on Credentials for examination for recognition of prior ordination: Robert A. Johnson II and Michael J. Tannous.

The following men were approved as probationers eligible to receive a call: Jeffrey S. Albrecht, Mark A. Baumgardner, Timothy J. Bertolet, Robert K. Fields, Alan G. Miller, and David W. Peters.

The following men were issued licenses: Timothy J. Bertolet, Robert K. Fields, Donald E. Kuntzman, Alan G. Miller, Eric R. North, and David W. Peters.
