Board of Higher Education

            During the past year, the Board of Higher Education (BHE) did not meet. We continue to recommend that the BHE be dissolved and the oversight of the PEF be given to some other board within the BFC. The below resolution regarding the Pinebrook Educational Foundation (PEF) was passed via email vote.

The Pinebrook Educational Foundation

The Board of Directors of the PEF for the past year was as follows:

            Term expiring in 2011:           Stephen C. Cassel       Judith Rychnovsky

            Term expiring in 2010:           Raymond R. Dotts      Jay H. Fasnacht

            Term expiring in 2009:           Gary E. Karch            Karen Stull

The report of the PEF is appended to the report of the BHE

Resolved, that the Annual Conference ratify the election to the Pinebrook Educational Foundation of Gary E. Karch and Karen Stull for terms to end in 2012.

Pinebrook Educational Foundation

            The Board of Directors of the Pinebrook Educational Foundation met three times in 2008. The Foundation received gifts totaling $2,650 in 2008.

            Significant Board actions are described below:

1.         Approved Scholarship Grants totaling $16,000 as follows:

            a.         $1,000 to Louis Curcio from the Weaver Memorial Fund. Louis attends Lancaster Bible College.

            b.         $500 to Jeffrey Cole from the Ungerer Fund. Jeffrey attends Lancaster Bible College.

            c.         $1,000 to Krista Lenahan from the General Scholarship Fund. Krista attends Word of Life Bible Institute.

            d.         $1,000 to Edward Snyder-Ritter from the Berean Scholarship Fund. Edward attends King’s College and is a grandson of Clyde Snyder who is a graduate of Berean Bible School.

            e.         $1,000 to Andrew Crossgrove from the Daniel Ziegler Memorial Fund. Andrew is enrolled in a Doctoral Program at Master’s International School of Divinity.

            f.         $1,000 to Micah Diefenderfer from the Weaver Memorial Fund. Micah attends Geneva College.

            g.         $1,000 to Daniel Eppenhimer from the Weaver Memorial Fund. Daniel attends Valley Forge Christian College.

            h.         $1,000 to Nicole Germani from the Weaver Memorial Fund. Nicole attends Philadelphia Biblical University.

            i.         $1,000 to Heather Johnson from the Ungerer Memorial Fund. Heather attends Word of Life Bible Institute.

            j.         $1,000 to Katie Johnson from the General Scholarship Fund. Katie attends Word of Life Bible Institute.

            k.         $1,000 to Joel Klase from the Reverend and Mrs. R. C. Reichenbach Scholarship Fund. Joel attends Lancaster Bible College.

            l.         $500 to Elizabeth Kuntzman from the General Scholarship Fund. Elizabeth attends Messiah College.

            m.       $1,000 to Azad Lassiter from the Weaver Memorial Fund. Azad attends John Brown University.

            n.         $1,000 to Monica Lord from the Weaver Memorial Fund. Monica attends Houghton College.

            o.         $1,000 to Barnabas Prontnicki from the Weaver Memorial Fund. Barnabas attends Geneva College.

            p.         $1,000 to Jodi Ravier from the General Scholarship Fund. Jodi attends Indiana Wesleyan University.

            q.         $1,000 to Ethan Tuke from the Weaver Memorial Fund. Ethan attends Lancaster Bible College.

2.         Presented Gary Karch and Karen Stull to the Board of Higher Education for approval as nominees for ratification by Annual Conference to serve on the Board of Pinebrook Education Foundation for a three-year term ending in 2012.
