2009 Report of Youth

Report of the

Board of Youth & Young Adults

The full board met four times this year to do its work. In addition there are three sub-committees that have duties to fulfill:

Events Committee – This committee plans events for youth, primarily Sno-Glo. This year Sno-Glo had a total 1096 attendees. Every year there are evaluations of many facets of the retreat. The speakers and music were very well received. This was a great Sno-Glo. In a very real sense the Board of Youth and Young Adults partners with Pinebrook Bible Conference and Retreat Center to put on this retreat, and we appreciate the partnering relationship we have with Pinebrook. We are grateful for the cooperative spirit of the staff of Pinebrook.

Young Adults – Our Young Adults Sub Committee has been working hard to provide denominational events for the young adults of the BFC. In February, we were able to partner with Pinebrook Bible Conference to have our second Young Adults Retreat. Pastor Steve Cornell was the speaker. We will be holding our 2009 retreat at Pinebrook on the weekend of June 5-7 with Brian Cooper the speaker. Please encourage the young adults of your church to come to this retreat. We have sent out a quarterly newsletter titled “Connections”, and set up a group on Facebook to connect the young adults of the BFC. At the time of this writing there are 211 members. In December, we held our first denomination-wide Young Adults Coffee House. Approximately 125 people were in attendance. For 2009 we plan to host another Coffee House, a day at Victory Valley, as well as our annual retreat (June 5-7). If your young adults are planning an event and would like to open it up to the rest of the BFC, please let us know, and we will help to promote your event.

Leadership Committee – This committee will be planning a retreat for students who are serious about their commitment to Jesus Christ. This retreat will occur in 2010.

We would request that your church would consider making a yearly contribution to the work of the Board of Youth and Young Adults.
